Agri Malaysia 2024 showcases advancements shaping a greener future
MALAYSIA ’ S agriculture sector took centre stage at The Malaysia International Agriculture Technology Exhibition , Agri Malaysia 2024 , an event that brought together over 13,000 professionals at the Setia City Convention Centre ( SCCC ) in Shah Alam from Sep 26-28 .
The exhibition , organised by One International Exhibition Sdn Bhd , highlighted cutting-edge advancements and underscored the importance of sustainable practices across various industries , including fruits , vegetables , palm oil , and horticulture .
Under the theme “ Empowering Agriculture Technology ,” the event featured 400 exhibitors across 550 booths and highlighted 800 brands , making it Malaysia ’ s largest B2B agriculture technology exhibition .
Plantation and Commodities Deputy Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin officiated the event . He emphasised the critical role of the plantation and commodities sectors , which contributed RM21.5 billion to Malaysia ’ s Gross Domestic Product ( GDP ) in the second quarter ( Q2 ) of 2024 .

He stated : “ This exhibition was a cornerstone in our efforts to modernise and advance agriculture in Malaysia .
“ It fostered collaboration and innovation , shaping the future of the industry .”
MODERNISING MALAYSIAN AGRICULTURE
A standout feature of the exhibition was the introduction of the Smart Farming Zone , which showcased the integration of advanced technologies like IoT , AI , and Big Data Analytics .

The AgriDemo segment captivated attendees with live demonstrations of advanced machinery and smart farming applications , including drones equipped for precision planting and irrigation , offering attendees a glimpse into the future of farming .
Meanwhile , AgriTalk offered a platform for knowledge-sharing , with sessions addressing topics such as Smart Agriculture , Palm Oil Sustainability , and Durian Farming Techniques .
AgriClinic complemented these efforts by providing personalised consultations on soil testing and analysis , helping farmers optimise their operations with expert guidance .
Some of the booths at AGRI Malaysia 2024 were particularly captivating , like Behn Meyer AgriCare ’ s , featuring an engaging demonstration from their Crop Protection team on an innovative fungi-based herbicide tailored for paddy and oil palm cultivation .
The excitement was further elevated by the Catch & Win digital interactive game , which attracted participants of all ages , offering an exciting opportunity to win over RM20,000 worth of prizes .
One International Exhibition Sdn Bhd Managing Director Roger Lim highlighted the event ’ s growth by saying : “ Agri Malaysia has consistently served as a leading B2B platform .
“ This year , we saw a 25 per cent increase in exhibitors compared to previous editions , and we expanded our space for both local and international exhibitors from sectors such as palm oil , durian , fruits , vegetables , and horticulture .”

The event ’ s commitment to sustainability resonated strongly , encouraging farmers to adopt eco-friendly practices that align with global trends . By prioritising innovation and responsible farming , Agri Malaysia 2024 laid the foundation for a future where technology and tradition harmonise for sustainable growth .
