AI boosts fresh quality

• AgroFresh expands FreshCloud™ platform through AI-powered partnerships with Aerobotics and Neolithics, enhancing orchard and packhouse insights.
• These partnerships enable data continuity from orchard to retailer, reducing waste, improving quality, and driving supply chain efficiency.
• AgriFi leverages blockchain to provide farmers with quicker, secure access to loans while offering investors profit-sharing opportunities.

AGROFRESH Solutions, Inc., a global authority in post-harvest freshness solutions, has strengthened its FreshCloud™ platform through partnerships with Aerobotics and Neolithics™, two innovators in AI-driven agriculture technology.

These collaborations aim to offer growers, packers, and retailers a more integrated, data-rich approach to produce quality and supply chain management.
FreshCloud aggregates live data from multiple sources, enabling users to make faster, informed decisions across the fresh produce supply chain.
AgroFresh’ s existing sensor partners, including Rubens Technologies, Strella, and Escavox, complement the platform by providing precise post-harvest monitoring, helping reduce waste, improve product quality, and increase profitability.
“ AgroFresh is committed to building the most holistic and connected digital platform in fresh produce.
“ By integrating partners like Aerobotics and Neolithics, FreshCloud now connects orchardto-packhouse intelligence like never before,” said AgroFresh Head of Digital Solutions Bradford Warner.
AI VISION
Through the Aerobotics partnership, FreshCloud now includes TrueFruit ® modules, which use AI and computer vision to analyse smartphone images from orchards and packhouses.
The technology allows growers to accurately measure fruit size, colour, and quality, optimise harvest planning, detect blemishes, and standardise quality metrics. The platform consolidates yield data into a single view, boosting
packouts by one to five per cent and delivering significant ROI.
“ Aerobotics has always focused on empowering growers and packers with highly accurate yield,” said Aerobotics Chief Executive Officer James Paterson.
Paterson further explained:“ We are excited to partner with AgroFresh, as a key leader in our industry, to offer TrueFruit ® to more customers and combine the power of our technology with FreshCloud™.
Together, these solutions seamlessly extend insights from the orchard into the post-harvest stage, providing continuity of data and enhancing decisions across the value chain.”
FULLY CONNECTED
Neolithics’ AI-powered imaging also brings high-speed, non-destructive inspection to packhouses. From berries to avocados
, the system evaluates internal and external quality, measuring factors such as brix, acidity, and dry matter, all with over 90 per cent accuracy.
“ We want to enable customers to protect their produce through high-volume, non-destructive quality inspections by reducing waste and creating greater transparency from field to shelf.
“ We’ re excited to integrate with AgroFresh and their FreshCloud ecosystem to realise our shared vision for a more sustainable, transparent food chain,” said Neolithics Chief Executive Officer Kate Murray.
These partnerships mark a significant step toward a fully connected, AI-enabled approach to fresh produce management, from orchard to retailer.

Blockchain for farming

AGRIFI, a blockchain-based agricultural financing platform, is offering farmers faster and more transparent access to capital while providing investors with opportunities to earn from farm profits.
The platform’ s model combines real-world staking with profitsharing, aiming to modernise farm investment and make agriculture more inclusive for both smallholders and institutional investors.
The system addresses longstanding barriers in farm financing, particularly the limited availability of credit for farmers in developing regions.
By recording transactions on an immutable blockchain ledger, AgriFi provides security and transparency, reducing reliance on traditional intermediaries and enabling competitive loan rates in markets across Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.
INVEST AND GROW
Through staking, investors lock cryptocurrency assets to fund farming projects and earn profits based on the yields generated. This approach not only incentivises investment but also helps farmers access critical funds to expand operations. The staked assets also strengthen platform liquidity and security, supporting long-term growth.
Farmers benefit from quicker access to loans and real-time visibility into their financial agreements, reducing the risk of fraud or mismanagement. Profit-sharing ensures both investors and farmers are motivated by the success of each project.
Investors“ are not merely financing the agricultural ventures; they are actively contributing to the growth and success of the farming community,” the platform noted,
TOKENISING AGRICULTURE: Land, crops, and farming operations can now be divided into fractions and traded on a global scale.
adding that successful operations benefit both parties.
AgriFi is also exploring tokenised agricultural assets, allowing land, crops, or entire farms to be fractionalised into tradable tokens. These digital assets can be bought and sold on global markets, bringing liquidity to an otherwise non-liquid industry and broadening investment access beyond
traditional agricultural circles.
While blockchain brings transparency, challenges such as scalability and limited internet access in rural areas remain. AgriFi is addressing these issues through mobile-friendly interfaces, partnerships with local telecom providers, and close engagement with regulators to ensure compliance with local financial laws.- @ AGROBiz
