SERVING as a Member & an Honorary Advisor with the ESG Association of Malaysia has been an enriching experience. I had the privilege of contributing to sustainable development initiatives, engaging with industry leaders, and promoting ESG best practices across businesses. Collaborating on policy recommendations and awareness campaigns deepened my understanding of environmental, social, and governance challenges.
The role allowed me to drive meaningful change, especially enabling technology and digital innovation as key enablers for ESG- from capacity building to sustainability tracking, financial inclusion and more importantly, help companies move beyond ESG compliance and unlock real business value through sustainability strategies.

SINCE September 2022, ESG Association of Malaysia( ES- GAM) has embarked on a remarkable journey, overcoming challenges and forging a pathway toward sustainability and excellence. As Pro-temp President( now Deputy President), I have had the privilege of witnessing first-hand the dedication, resilience, and unwavering spirit of our members in building an NGO rooted in pride, respect, and industry-wide recognition.
The road to establishing a respected organisation has not been without its trials. Still, through strategic planning, collaborative efforts, and steadfast commitment to ESG principles, we have cemented our presence among industry peers and communities, academia, fellow NGOs, governmental ministries and agencies, etc.
Today, ESG Association of Malaysia( ESGAM) stands as a beacon of progress, driving meaningful conversations, shaping policy discussions, and fostering partnerships that advance sustainable development in Malaysia.
Our journey is a testament to what can be achieved when passion meets purpose. As we continue to grow and evolve, our commitment remains strong- to empower businesses, influence policy, and create a future where ESG practices are not just adopted but embraced as a fundamental force for positive change.
AS Secretary-General of ESGAM, I’ m proud to contribute to- and continually learn from- this dynamic community of ESG advocates and professionals. Serving in this role has deepened my commitment to strengthening governance standards, ensuring that our frameworks are not only compliant but catalytic for real impact.
ESG is not a checklist; it’ s a mindset. And governance is its compass. I believe that when boards lead with integrity, transparency, and foresight, everything else- environmental and social outcomes- can follow with greater clarity and credibility.
It’ s been an honour to work alongside members who challenge the status quo and raise the bar for ESG excellence. Here’ s to shaping not just policies, but purpose-driven leadership across sectors.
