FMC Corporation , a leading global agricultural science company dedicated to helping farmers produce food , feed , fibre and fuel for the world ’ s growing population while adapting to changing environments , recently collaborated with Advansia Sdn Bhd , a local agrochemical company operating in Malaysia , and Hesbio Sdn Bhd , a recognised agricultural product distributor in Malaysia .

The partnership between the three parties aims to distribute insecticides produced by FMC Corporation to paddy farmers across the nation to protect the farmers ’ crops and yields from destruction by pests in 2024 .
The signing ceremony for the 2024 distribution agreement took place at the Sheraton Hotel , Petaling Jaya , on December 18 , 2023 . The inking of the ceremony was signed by FMC Malaysia Country Manager Tan Ying Ling and was witnessed by NAFAS Agri Services Sdn Bhd General Manager Syamsul Kamal Mohd Ramli .
The distribution agreement will take effect from January 1 , 2024 . Advansia will distribute Prevathon 5SC ( 250ML ) insecticide , while Hesbio will distribute Ferterra 2 ( KG ) and Steward EC ( 100ML ) insecticides manufactured by FMC .
INCENTIVISING PADDY PRODUCTION YIELDS
The partnership that was forged between FMC , Advansia and Hesbio stemmed
from the FMC Malaysia ’ s engagement in supplying crop protection inputs under the Skim Insentif Pengeluaran Padi ( SIPP ).
The SIPP is a programme introduced by the Malaysian Government in 2008 as a continuation of the National Food Security Policy , whereby the scheme aims to assist paddy farmers in managing agricultural input costs while providing the best agricultural inputs to maximise the potential yield for their rice harvests .
Therefore , as the agricultural landscape continues to evolve , FMC Malaysia decided to strengthen its strategic collaboration with local industry players , Advansia and Hesbio , to ensure the efficiency of its input supply under the SIPP .
This proactive step to work with experienced industry partners allows FMC Malaysia to continue providing the best services to the nation ’ s rice farmers , including technical support and field advisory services .
“ This is all with the objective for FMC to continue to stay strong and relevant on how we are going to serve our farming communities ,” expressed Tan on the memorandum of distribution agreement .
“ FMC is similar to Advansia and Hesbio in that we are very much bootson-the-ground , not just at the trading level . We see how we can serve our farmers , provide technical support , and provide advice and services to farmers . It sets us apart from within the industry , and that is what we will continue to do
“ FMC pesticide products participating in the SIPP have the world ’ s bestselling insecticide active ingredients and can effectively control leaf rollers ( Tortrix moth larvae ) and heart borers ( stem boring insects ) that threaten rice crops .”

and uphold as a competent industry player .”
Advansia Director Ngui Chin Kam was honoured at the opportunity bestowed on Advansia to be appointed as one of the distributors for FMC Malaysia ’ s designated rice pesticide products under the SIPP . He also expressed excitement to be working alongside FMC once again .
“ Once rice farmers submit applications to various district farmers ’ associations , the national farmers ’ organisation will collect all data and transfer it to Advansia . FMC will be responsible for supplying goods ,” said Ngui .
“ We will be responsible for diversion and arranging shipments to ensure that pesticide products are delivered to rice farmers . Demonstrations will also be conducted to guide rice farmers on correctly using pesticides .
“ FMC pesticide products participating in the SIPP have the world ’ s best-selling insecticide active ingredients and can effectively control leaf rollers ( Tortrix moth larvae ) and heart borers ( stem boring insects ) that threaten rice crops .
“ This product has always been widely known by farmers . In addition , seven of Advansia ’ s pesticide brands have also joined the SIPP .”
With the distribution of FMC Malaysia ’ s flagship insecticide products rolling out through Advansia and Hesbio , the country ’ s farmers would appreciate the advances made by FCM Malaysia through its insecticide products that cater to their ever-evolving and diverse needs . – @ green
