Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation ( PETRA ) Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof leads this charge , a stalwart advocate committed to guiding Malaysia towards a future where clean energy and ample water resources are fundamental pillars of prosperity .
A CALL TO ACTION FOR SUSTAINABILITY
As we delve into Malaysia ’ s journey towards sustainability , the gravity of
the task becomes apparent . In a world grappling with the existential challenge of climate change , the decisions made today will resonate for generations to come .
Fadillah underscored this urgency , affirming the nation ’ s commitment to concrete action : “ Among our focus is on reducing our GHG emissions , with a commitment to developing a low-carbon economy and achieving net zero across the economic sector as early as 2050 .

Fadillah emphasised that the ministry was firmly dedicated to three main goals :
• reducing non-revenue water ( NRW ),
• increasing the water reserve margin , and
• promoting data sharing . These efforts aim to improve strategic planning and policymaking in the water sector .
