Revolutionising decarbonisation

AT THE ASEAN Green Hydrogen Conference 2024 , which took place on May 13-14 , a diverse array of panellists and speakers discussed their companies ’ and institutions ’ integration of green hydrogen technologies .
Among them was Thyssenkrupp Nucera Japan Co . Ltd . Green Hydrogen Group , Group Manager Dr Namiko Murayama . Her “ Large-scale water electrolysis for decarbonised industries ” presentation highlighted Thyssenkrupp Nucera ’ s significant strides in this vital area .
Thyssenkrupp Nucera , a renowned leader in high-efficiency electrolysis plants , has a strong track record of over 600 projects . These include projects with a total rating of more than 10 gigawatts installed .
This extensive experience demonstrates the company ’ s deep expertise in the engineering , procurement , and construction of electrochemical plants .
Murayama discussed the pivotal role of Thyssenkrupp Nucera ’ s state-of-theart electrolysers , which use solar , wind , and water energy to produce hydrogen without emitting greenhouse gases .
Thyssenkrupp Nucera ’ s aim is not just to drive sustainable transformation and make green hydrogen commercially viable .
It ’ s about providing industries with a clean , renewable energy source that will endure for future generations while ensuring safety and resilience are at the core of its technological advancements , instilling trust and confidence in its solutions .
Thyssenkrupp Nucera has established a strong portfolio in two critical sectors , chlor-alkali and renewable hydrogen , and it ’ s also generating synergies and offering innovative solutions . These solutions are advancing industrial progress and contributing to the development of ecological value chains , inspiring others to follow suit .
INTRODUCING SCALUM MODULE
A significant highlight of her presentation was the introduction of Thyssenkrupp Nucera ’ s new scalum module , a substantial innovation in Alkaline Water Electrolysis ( AWE ) technology . AWE is currently the only solution available for producing green hydrogen on an industrial scale .
The scalum ® module exemplifies this technology , combining about 300 high-efficiency cells into a single 20 MW unit . These modules are designed to be standardised and modular , allowing for
