Dutch Lady reinforces commitment

Increases efforts to raise recycling awareness amongst Malaysian through consumer education
Dutch Lady has refreshed its range of Dutch Lady Liquid Milk and Family Milk Powder with a brand-new look and improved recipe .
The refreshed range now includes an enhanced recipe filled with protein to support body growth and muscular development . Additionally , it provides more calcium for strong bones to empower individuals with strength and energy .

The largest electricity utility company in Malaysia , Tenaga Nasional Bhd ( TNB ) now controls one of the largest solar platforms in the United Kingdom .
TNB announced it had acquired the controlling stake in Vortex Solar Investments S . a . r . l . from Beaufort Investments S . a . r . l , a subsidiary of EFG Hermes Holding SAE , for £ 11 million .
TNB said the acquisition would increase its stake in Vortex Solar to 55 per cent , giving it majority control of the company .
It said Vortex Solar is one of the largest solar platforms in the UK with the Renewables Obligation Certificate ( ROC ) subsidy scheme .
This is in line with its energy transition aspiration of becoming the leading on participating recycling centres and steps on how to recycle at the respective centres .

Fed govt approves RM10m for infrastructure outside padi farming areas in Kelantan
The federal government has approved an allocation of RM10 million for implementation of agriculture infrastructure projects outside the padi farming areas in Kelantan .
State Agriculture , Agro-based Industry , Biotechnology , Green Technology and Environment Committee chairman Tuan Mohd Saripudin Tuan Ismail said it would involve the construction of pump houses and drainage system .
“ Most of the projects will be carried out in the districts of Machang and Pasir Puteh before the end of this year ,” he told reporters after opening the Bukit Jawa Area Farmers Organisation general meeting in Selising .
He said the projects were an effort to expand the padi farming areas in Kelantan . — EdgeProp
Penang eyes launching 100 community urban farming hubs by 2025
The Penang government aims to implement 100 community garden hubs with urban farming concept throughout the state in the next five years .
According to The Edge Markets , Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said , the initiative was in line with the Penang 2030 vision in becoming a family-focused , green and smart state that inspires the nation .
“ The initiative ( to implement community urban farms ) not only can be implemented by the State government . Even communities , agencies , institutions and other organisations can also implement them if they have space ,” he said , after officiating the launch of Kebun Kitar pilot project at Penang Digital Library Phase 1 ( PDL1 ).
The Kebun Kitar is Penang ’ s first self-sustaining community urban farm launched by the state government and in partnership with Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris ( UPSI ) and Think City .
The 2,000 sq ft ( 185.81 sq m ) self-sustaining community urban farm was enhanced by Smart systems developed by UPSI , which incorporate mixed technology , including automated irrigation , vertical hydroponics , as well as solar panels for energy , rainwater harvesting and a comprehensive zero-waste management system .
Malakoff to buy Malacca land for future RE projects
Malakoff Corp Berhad is acquiring a 71ha piece of land in Malacca for future renewable energy projects , in line with the group ’ s target of achieving the capacity to generate 10,000MW of power .
The wholly-owned subsidiary Malakoff R & D Sdn Bhd is buying the land located in Alor Gajah from Eksklusif Pesona Sdn Bhd for RM150 million , stated in a report by The Edge Markets .
The land is now cultivated and planted with matured oil palm trees between the ages of 13 and 39 years and had produced over 710 tonnes of oil palm fruit bunches over the past three years .
“ The proposed land acquisition is for the potential future development of renewable energy power plants by Malakoff and its group of companies including but not limited to large scale solar , waste to energy , biomass and biogas power plants ,” said the group in stock exchange filing .
Barring unforeseen circumstances , Malakoff expects to complete the acquisition by the fourth quarter of 2020 .
Penang ’ s water company pays dividend for 19th straight year
Penang ’ s public-listed water services company PBA Holdings Berhad ( PBAHB ) declared a single-tier final dividend of 1.75 sen per share , bringing its total dividend for last year to 3.5 sen per share .
At its 20th annual general meeting , PBAHB chairman and Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said this was the 19th year in a row that it had paid dividends to its shareholders .
Earlier this year , the company paid an interim single-tier dividend of 1.75 sen per share for 2019 .
He said PBAHB registered an after-tax profit of RM25.15 million on revenue of RM363.14 million last year .
On the company ’ s outlook , Chow said water consumption from the trade category , comprising factories , retail outlets and other businesses , had dipped 8.59 per cent or 5.5 billion litres in the first six months of this year compared with the same period last year due to the Covid-19 lockdown .
“ Since trade consumption is the primary source of income for Penang Water Supply Corporation Sdn Bhd ( a subsidiary of PBAHB ), we expect 2020 to be a challenging year ,” he said . — FMT
