Malaysia ’ s race to net zero emissions by 2050

MGTC hopes to balance human activity and nature to build a sustainable future

THE International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia 2022 ( IGEM ) will be held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Oct 12-14 .

Spearheaded by the Ministry of Environment and Water ( KASA ) and co-organised by the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation ( MGTC ), it continues to be the leading trade event for green technologies and eco solutions .
This year ’ s theme is Race towards Net Zero : Fulfilling Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs ) and Environmental , Social , and Governance ( ESG ) Commitments .
The event will feature green energy organisations , businesses , and suppliers showcasing their most recent innovations in the green economy landscape .
In addition , there will be sharing sessions led by distinguished field experts , business matching sessions , and educational series to increase public awareness of the nation ’ s goal to become carbon neutral by 2050 .
This year ’ s main issues are empowering cities , electrifying mobility , decarbonising energy , and accelerating circularity .
With nearly 300 booths occupied , the event is expected to receive 30,000 visitors and RM3b investment prospects .
It will bring representatives from 30 countries , including Taiwan , China , the Netherlands , Canada , Korea , Singapore , and Austria . There will also be 17 conference sessions featuring 30 conference speakers and 10 conference partners .
Visitors can look forward to roundtable discussions , exhibitions , one-on-one consultations , product launches , and collaboration agreements during the three-day event .

science innovation , low-carbon cities , circular economy , water waste , energy efficiency , green practices , and incentives .

Known as the leading trade event for green technologies and eco solutions , IGEM has successfully generated approximately RM30 billion in business leads since its inception in 2010 .
Over 500,000 individuals have attended IGEM , including delegates , dignitaries , and businesses from more than 70 nations . – @ Green

Three national policies , in particular , the National Green Technology Policy ( NGTP ), the National Climate Change Policy ( NCCP ) and the Green Technology Master Plan ( GTMP ), regulated MGTC ’ s role as a

MGTC ’ s initiatives and programmes provide specific details in achieving the long-term impact of the Nationally Determined Contribution ( NDC ) to reduce greenhouse gas emission intensity by
45 per cent based on Gross Domestic Product ( GDP ) compared to emission intensity in 2005 by 2030 , increasing the GDP rate from green technology of RM100b and the generation of 230,000 green jobs .
