Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan deepen ties

STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS: Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan deepen industrial cooperation through bilateral discussions aimed at expanding trade and investment opportunities.

INDONESIA and Kyrgyzstan have signed a cooperation agreement to deepen collaboration in the halal industry. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to trade, invest- ment, and knowledge exchange, creating new opportunities for halal businesses in both countries.

The agreement includes initiatives to enhance industry competitiveness, facilitate expertise exchange, and promote halal products and services internationally. Both countries will collaborate on training programmes, seminars, conferences, and reciprocal visits to strengthen technical capabilities and develop skilled talent.
In addition to knowledge shar- ing, the collaboration aims to foster public-private partnerships and joint investments to accelerate growth across the halal industries of both countries.
By combining resources and expertise, Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan aim to build a stronger ecosystem that supports innovation, raises industry standards, and expands market access for halal-certified products.
For Indonesia, this partnership is a strategic step to strengthen its position in the global halal economy. As one of the largest Muslim-majority countries, Indonesia has been developing its halal ecosystem through international cooperation, thereby expanding export opportunities and global reach.
The agreement is expected to improve access to the Eurasian market, where demand for halal goods and services is growing, thereby further enhancing Indonesia ' s trade prospects.
This cooperation highlights the growing importance of transnational partnerships in shaping the future of the halal industry. Countries are prioritising long-term collaboration, including capacity building, investment, and knowledge exchange, rather than trade alone.
As the global halal market expands, strategic alliances such as this are expected to drive sustainable growth and create lasting opportunities for businesses across regions.

Unlocking access to the tourism market

VIETNAM is entering the growing halal tourism market, aiming to become a more welcoming destination for Muslim travellers. Known for its landscapes, culture, and cuisine, the country now recognises the need to offer travel experiences that are both inclusive and faith-friendly.
This commitment was emphasised at the Vietnam Halal Tourism Conference 2026 in Nha Trang, where government leaders, tourism authorities, and industry representatives discussed emerging opportunities. Halal tourism is now seen as a key driver of future growth, not merely a niche segment.
In 2025, Vietnam welcomed more than 21 million international visitors, yet only about 600,000 were Muslim travellers. This gap highlights a significant opportunity to attract more Muslim travellers, as travellers increasingly seek destinations that understand their needs.
Vietnam is focusing on practical measures to enhance the visitor experience. These include increasing the number of halal-certified restaurants, encouraging Muslim-friendly hotels, expanding prayer facilities, and updating tourism standards to better meet Muslim guests ' expectations.
The country also aims to forge international partnerships and strengthen its reputation as a halalfriendly destination.
Vietnam recognises that halal tourism extends beyond providing halal food. Muslim travellers value destinations that offer comfort, convenience, and reassurance throughout their journey. Every aspect, from accommodation and transport to attractions and hospitality, contributes to a positive experience.
