MIHAS 2023 showcases sustainable , modest style by MODA

THE Malaysia Official Designers ’ Association ( MODA ), in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation ( MATRADE ), orchestrated a spectacular showcase of modest fashion at the Malaysia International Halal Showcase ( MIHAS ) 2023 .

On Sept 13 , the main stage of MITEC Kuala Lumpur bore witness to the “ MODA Sustainable Threads Affair ( MOSTA ),” an event that seamlessly intertwined the realms of fashion and values .
Expanding beyond MODA ’ s dynamic exhibition that featured 13 trade booths , the association , well-known for its dedication to “ Empowering Progress through Collaboration , Innovation , and Advocacy ,” aimed to amplify the global push for ethical and sustainable fashion within the halal industry .
MOSTA played host for a diverse array of brands , including SLAÉ , JOLS LUXE FABRICS , VARIANTE , 3THELABEL , MW by MimiWahedah , SecretModest , UMMIRIAZ INTERNATIONAL , ARLINA AYOU , NAZRAI , IQLAS , BATIKTEKTURA , and Matase Sutera .
Through this collaboration , MIHAS , renowned for its endorsement of halal-certified products , underscored its dedication to responsible fashion choices . MOSTA ’ s engaging line-up during MIHAS 2023 featured a Fashion Forum , a Modest Fashion Show , and interactive Fashion Workshops focusing on beauty and styling .
MODA President Jay Ishak shared the event ’ s philosophy : “ MOSTA ’ s vision is to create a platform where fashion seamlessly marries aesthetics and values . Ethical and sustainable fashion isn ’ t merely an option ; it ’ s a compass guiding our future choices . Through MOSTA , we envisioned sparking dialogues that resonate with like-minded individuals .”

MOSTA ’ S FASHION FORUM
At the heart of MOSTA was the Fashion Forum , aptly named “ Fashion for Good : Ethical Practices and Sustainability in the Fashion Industry ”.
Esteemed experts delivered insights and explored innovative pathways toward a more sustainable and ethical fashion ecosystem . The one-hour forum attracted over 100 local and foreign attendees , including deans , principals , lecturers , and fashion students from various fashion colleges and universities .
Malaysian Sustainable Fashion Business Hub Founder Datin Dr Norsaadah Zakaria moderated the Fashion Forum . It featured three panellists - Earth Heir ( BCorp ) Founder Sasibai Kimis , KLOTH Malaysia Co-Founder and Director Sarahah Kedah , and an Art and Fashion Consultant Habsah Abang Saufi .
MODEST FASHION SHOWCASE
The event ’ s highlight was the Modest Fashion Showcase , titled “ Global Threads : The Tapestry of Modest Fashion ”. This showcase celebrated the rich diversity present within the world of modest fashion .
Over 200 specially-invited local and international buyers had the privilege of witnessing 14 fashion brands and designers present their exquisite collections on the main stage of MIHAS 2023 . Also gracing the event was the Patron of PUSPANITA Cawangan
