ITC CONTRIBUTES TO FORUM SERANTAU YAPEIM 2024

ON 1 October 2024 , Islamic Tourism Centre ( ITC ) Director-General Nizran Noordin contributed valuable insights during the ‘ Industri Halal dan Pelancongan Islam : Jaringan Nusantara ’ forum , organised by Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia ( YAPEIM ) at the Marriott Hotel , Putrajaya . Nizran shared Malaysia ’ s approach to expanding the Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality ( MFTH ) ecosystem , offering industry leaders strategies for enhancing local economies by catering
to the growing Muslim tourist market . ITC was honoured to be part of an event that strengthened the economic ties and networks within the Nusantara region , including Indonesia , Cambodia , Singapore , and Thailand . ITC hoped that this collaboration among industry players across the Nusantara would become more robust , fostering a more competitive future for the Islamic tourism sector and contributing to the overall economic well-being of the region .

MALAYSIA AND BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA EXPLORE NEW OPPORTUNITIES IN ISLAMIC TOURISM

THE Islamic Tourism Centre ( ITC ) participated in the Malaysia-Bosnia & Herzegovina Tourism Dialogue held at Hotel Maya KLCC on 27 September 2024 . ITC Director-General Nizran Noordin addressed the audience on the topic of ‘ Islamic Tourism : Unlocking Halal Tourism Potentials between Malaysia and Bosnia ’, where he highlighted Malaysia ’ s leadership in the global Muslim tourism market . Nizran also underscored the potential for collaboration between the two nations , focusing on the Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality Assurance and Recognition ( MFAR ) programme , which presents numerous opportunities for mutual growth . The ITC ’ s presence continued at the Malaysia-Bosnia & Herzegovina Business Council ( MBBC ) Annual Dinner 2024 , attended by distinguished guests , including Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka Tun Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam and ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Malaysia , Dr Edin Jahic .

ITC SUPPORTS MADANI RAKYAT SARAWAK PROGRAMME 2024

THE Islamic Tourism Centre ( ITC ) participated in the ‘ MADANI Rakyat Sarawakku Sayang ’ event , held from 27-29 September 2024 at the Boulevard Mall , Miri , Sarawak . As part of the Ministry of Tourism , Arts and Culture ( MOTAC ) booth , ITC presented its recognition programmes , highlighting Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality ( MFTH ) services and upcoming promotional activities . The Centre ’ s engagement included interactive quizzes and prize giveaways to attract the public ’ s interest further . This initiative was part of ITC ’ s ongoing efforts to promote Muslim-friendly tourism services and enhance awareness of Sarawak ’ s diverse tourism offerings . – RnR

ITC CERTIFIES 16 NEW MUSLIM-FRIENDLY TOURIST GUIDES

THE Islamic Tourism Centre

( ITC ) proudly certified 16 new Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guides ( MFTGs ) upon completion of their training from 23-25 September 2024 at the Novotel Hotel , Kuala Lumpur . As the 13th batch of MFTGs , these participants received extensive training on Islamic tourism , the growing global Muslim travel market , best practices for catering to the specific needs of Muslim tourists , effective communication in Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality ( MFTH ), and a fundamental understanding of halal . The programme also included a technical tour of Masjid Sendayan , Negeri
Sembilan , providing the guides with practical insights into Islamic tourism . With this latest group of certified guides , ITC strengthens its capacity to offer exceptional Muslim-friendly experiences , further promoting Malaysia as a leading Muslim-friendly tourist destination .
