“ We have a highly regulated sector , such as the financial sector , and we are determined not to overlook the significance of establishing appropriate standards ,” Hussalmizzar elaborated .
He mentioned that JSM was considering expanding the scope of halal standards to cover more industries . This expansion is expected to play a pivotal role in promoting comprehensive halal ecosystem development and addressing the evolving needs of the halal industry .
“ We have a responsibility to meet the market demand . Losing this opportunity is not something we can afford . We must leverage the trust and strength we have built .”
Hussalmizzar also emphasised JSM ' s strategic plan , which might centre around critical areas such as technology and innovation , sustainability and ethical practices , international collaboration and harmonisation , and consumer empowerment and awareness .

In terms of consumer confidence and trust , he said : “ Halal standards assure Muslim consumers that the products they consume or use meet the requirements of Islamic principles . Adopting these standards builds trust , enhances consumer confidence and encourages repeat purchases .”
