THE United States( U. S.) is seeing a two to three per cent annual increase in energy demand. This surge is due to the growth of data centres, manufacturing expansion, and electrification.
By 2028, data centres ' energy consumption is projected to grow by 12 per cent, up from 4.4 per cent in 2023. Generating capacity margins within the Southwest Power Pool, Inc.( SPP) region are expected to decline sharply, from 24 per cent in 2020 to just 5 per cent by 2029.
The generator interconnection( GI) processes, meant to safeguard grid reliability, have instead become one of the biggest obstacles to adding new power sources. Currently, over 2.56 terawatts( TW) of generated power are backlogged due to time-consuming technical studies and simulations that ensure new connections don ' t destabilise the grid.
To address this, SPP, Hitachi and NVIDIA are collaborating on an AIpowered solution. The initiative is designed to reduce GI analysis times by 80 per cent, in addition to improving planning and decision-making for power developers.
As the regional grid operator, SPP is leading the integration of the project. Meanwhile, Hitachi and NVIDIA are providing advanced AI and computing

GetAgent combines real-time market intelligence with personalised trading strategies. It enables users to interact with the market using natural language and receive actionable insights and execution targeted for completion by winter 2025 / 26. It will introduce AI-driven simulations, optimise data management, and accelerate core systems to support grid modernisation more effectively in the future.
" SPP can then make significantly quicker, better-informed decisions that will increase overall ROI while better serving the nation ' s population with accessible power. We ' re proud to be a part of this important three-way collaboration addressing such a crucial problem," stated Antonysamy.

" GetAgent is more than just a tool, it ' s the beginning of a new trading paradigm where AI empowers every crypto trader, regardless of experience level," said Bitget Chief Executive Officer( CEO) Gracy Chen.
In fact, the engagement metrics for GetAgent indicate a high frequency of use, with an average of over 15 daily interactions per user. Moreover, it has a seven-day retention rate above 30 per cent.
" The overwhelming response from our community reaffirms our vision to bring smart, accessible, and user-centric products to the market. We ' re excited to see how GetAgent reshapes the future of trading," added Chen.
Plans are underway to make GetAgent accessible to all users by the end of the third quarter. In upcoming developments, GetAgent will soon support contract trading, earn products, and trading bots.
These upgrades will enable users to navigate diverse crypto investment activities through natural, conversational commands.
Alliance strengthens quantum innovations
HORIZON Quantum Computing Pte. Ltd. has officially joined the QuEra Quantum Alliance Partner Programme. This move is set to strengthen global efforts in advancing neutral-atom quantum computing.
" QuEra is at the forefront of advancing neutral atom quantum computing, a technology that is rapidly emerging as a promising path to scalable quantum computing," said Horizon Quantum Chief Executive Officer( CEO) Dr Joe Fitzsimons.
The alliance will enable users to code, compile, and deploy quantum applications more efficiently on advanced quantum hardware.
With Horizon Quantum on board, the QuEra Quantum Alliance now comprises over 25 members across North America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East.
The growing list also includes leading quantum software developers, high-performance computing centres( HPC), and global IT firms. Notably, the QuEra Quantum Alliance ' s software functionality is poised for a significant boost.
QuEra Computing Chief Commercial Officer( CCO) Yuval Boger underscored the value that Horizon Quantum brings: " We believe that their deep expertise in quantum software, especially automated algorithm synthesis and quantum compilation, will play a pivotal role in expanding the practical utility of our neutral-atom quantum systems "
Ultimately, this strategic partnership highlights a growing industry push to make scalable quantum computing more accessible. @ ND
