More than 300 million people suff er from depression and anxiety globally according to the World Health Organisation (WHO). Dr Sangeeta Kaur, Chief Engage- ment Offi cer of Emerging Journey Asia and Organising Chairman of MHEC2019 shared with Th e Health that insurance providers have stated that the demand for mental health coverage is lacking in Malaysia. Th is was the information she received from the time she approached insurance agencies about mental health. It is an interesting thing to note since statistics denote that one out three working adults are plagued with mental health challenges. “Th ese numbers are based on those who have come to terms with their challenges and are openly admitting, whether wilfully or procedurally.
