IJN and Sungai Buloh Hospital bag Top Achievers Awards 2022
THE NATIONAL Heart Institute ( IJN ) and Sungai Buloh Hospital were among the businesses and government agencies honoured at the Malaysia Top Achievers Awards 2022 , organised by The Leaders Online and My Events International Sdn Bhd .
Malaysia Top Achievers 2022 was held to pay tribute to Malaysia ’ s successes and outstanding achievements .
The guests of honour at the event were Deputy Finance Minister I , Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah and Deputy Minister of Higher Education , Senator Datuk Dr Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad .
Excellence , said the event ’ s organising chairman Hema Kandy , results from a combination of high-minded will , sincere effort , wise direction , skilled execution and a vision to see obstacles as opportunities .
“ Amid the crisis and faced with uncertainties following the Covid-19 pandemic , the recipients of recognition at the event proved that they can achieve remarkable achievements ,” she said in a statement .
Meanwhile , Mohd Shahar said Malaysia was working to increase inclusive development by expanding small and medium businesses . In addition , Malaysia was also improving human capital development and digitisation .

Hibiscus Petroleum helps combat thalassaemia
IN conjunction with World Thalassaemia Day , Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad ( Hibiscus ) launched the thalassaemia NowYouSeeMe 2.0 programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Health ( MoH ) and Ministry of Education ( MoE ) on May 8 .
Thalassaemia is a blood disorder passed down through families ( inherited ) in which the body makes an abnormal form or inadequate amount of haemoglobin .
“ Hibiscus Petroleum , which is in crude oil and natural gas exploration and production , also focuses on sustainable development that encompasses various economic , environmental and social aspects , including health ,” said Hibiscus Petroleum Chairman Zainul Rahim Mohd Zain .
“ Hibiscus will continue to support smart collaboration with MoH and MoE to combat thalassaemia disease in the hope that the birth rate of thalassaemia babies can be lowered in line with government projections .”
The NowYouSeeMe 2.0 programme aims to raise awareness and improve health literacy among Malaysians about the causes , symptoms , effects , and treatments for thalassemia .
Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin said : “ Thalassemia is not a foreign disease . However , awareness of this disease still needs to be increased , especially among school children . “ The success of the thalassaemia awareness campaign last year was a catalyst for the programme ’ s

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin commended the smart collaboration between Hibiscus and the MoE . “ Thalassaemia awareness campaign NowYouSEEMe 2.0 continues to produce more health ambassadors among school teens .
“ Let ’ s work together with the global community to improve thalassaemia knowledge ,” he said .

Nestlé ’ s MAGGI CSR campaign raises over RM80,000
NESTLÉ ’ S ‘ MAGGI Gong Xi Masak , Gong Xi Meriah ’ Chinese New Year campaign raised RM81,000 in support of 10 elderly care homes across Malaysia , in the spirit of giving and sharing .
Nestlé has approached senior citizens in these homes to learn and understand their needs for necessities such as food , toiletries , wheelchairs , mattresses , and electrical appliances such as microwaves and rice cookers .
Some of these homes were also damaged by the massive floods in December of last year and require assistance in upgrading and repairing their living facilities .

Ramadan bazaar merchants adopt Boost as a preferred digital payment platform

THE MALAYSIA Association for the Welfare of Mentally Challenged Children ( PKKTAM ), also known as IQ70 Plus , is appealing to the public for donations to run its charity home .
Established in 2012 , IQ70 Plus is a non-profit charity home which takes care of individuals who suffer from intellectual disabilities . It is now home to 80 kids and adults , ranging from eight months to 73 years old .

Since most of them come from single families or poor families , IQ70 Plus offers help to those in need without any charges . The monthly expenses for the home is around RM100,000 .
According to PKKTAM Chairman Chang Ming Kiet , the association does not receive funds from the government , nor from other companies and organisations .
“ Therefore , we need to gather funds from time to time to cover the home expenses as we rely solely on public donations .
“ We would like to use this opportunity to request for help and donations , which will reduce our financial burden . We thank you from the bottom of our hearts .”
The association welcomes monetary donations or contributions to the home or via online to Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Terencat Akal Malaysia . It also welcomes those who love to do voluntary and charity work to offer companionship and support to the children . — The Health
