 The Covid-19 pandemic has
 brought in remarkable innovative opportunities through the application of online platforms , machinery-based learning , big data , artificial intelligence ( AI ), genomics , robotics , and 3-D printing for a far more effective healthcare service delivery .
 “ While we see tremendous opportunities in these areas , we still require on-going research to monitor outcomes especially centric to the patient ,” said Minister of Health , Datuk Sri Dr Adham Baba , in his opening address at the launch of the 13th National Conference for Clinical Research ( NCCR ) recently at the National Institutes of Health ( NIH ) in Setia Alam , Selangor .
 The three-day conference themed
 “ Conference of Very Important Disease ( Covid-19 )”, showcased meaningful research advancements in the fight against Covid-19 . It was organised by the Institute of Clinical Research ( ICR ) and supported by Clinical Research Malaysia ( CRM ) and Collaborative Research and Engineering , Science and Technology ( CREST ).
 This year , the NCCR was conducted on a virtual format , joined by 17 renowned speakers from Malaysia , Thailand , the Philippines , South Korea and the United Kingdom . Comprising medical experts to researchers , they spoke on disruptive technologies , interdisciplinary digital health research and coordinated efforts to advance research in fighting against Covid-19 .
 There were also panel discussions on ‘ Shaping The Future of Healthcare Innovation ’ and ‘ How Innovation in Healthcare is Leading the Way in The Fight Against Covid-19 ’. The sessions were moderated by the Managing Director of Medical Opinion Asia , Stuart J . Venner Pack .
