Treating Infertility
with Revolutionary
Technology
Alpha Fertility Centre implements innovative
technologies and discoveries for excellent patient care
T
ECHNOLOGY plays an important
role in healthcare, especially
in medical fields that require
specialised treatments such as
fertility. As such, only doctors specialised in
the discipline are equipped with the skills in
delivering optimised results to couples who
are facing fertility issues.
Alpha Fertility Centre (AFC) is a leading
fertility centre with high fertility success
rates on par with world-class centres and
has attributed its success to the application of
advanced technologies.
The centre’s reputation precedes their
home region and has now spread all the way
to Hong Kong as well as other Asia Pacifi c
countries as doctors from around the world
would refer their patients to here in Malaysia.
AFC’s Consultant Fertility Specialist and
Gynecologist, Dato Dr Colin Lee Soon Soo
explained that patients have to be carefully
assessed first and foremost in order for
doctors to decide on the optimum treatment
that follows.
TECHNOLOGY
Since its inception in 2011, AFC has embraced
the latest & most advanced fertility sciences
and technologies, coupled with continuous
research and development, in its eff ort to
achieve optimum excellence in medical
treatment services and patient care.
In 2018 the centre was awarded Frost &
Sullivan’s Malaysia Fertility Centre of the
year award in recognition to its consistent
pursuit of excellence. In just one year, the
centre implemented 5 new technologies

and discoveries which further cemented its
reputation of being Malaysia’s Fertility Centre
Of The Year:
1. ERA (Endometrial Receptivity Analysis)
determines the receptivity of the endometrial
lining by establishing the window of
implantation. It is a diagnostic method to
evaluate the endometrial receptivity status of a
woman from a molecular point of view, leading
to a personalised embryo transfer based on the
personal window of implantation period.

Largest Gathering of IVF Babies”
2. Administration of anti-fungal treatment
before embryo transfer which improves
implantation rate in frozen embryo transfer
and clinical pregnancy outcomes.
3. QUALIS sperm sorter to avoid DNA
fragmentation during sperm processing.
4. Time Lapse Embryo Scope technology
which allows embryologists to observe the
development of embryos and select the best
embryos for transfer which leads to a higher
chance of pregnancy.
5. Preimplantation Genetic Testing using
Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) that is
capable of doing concurrent Preimplantation
Genetic Screening (PGS), Preimplantation
Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and HLA Typing with
one single biopsy under one single platform.
All these new technologies and discoveries
directly benefi t the patients - from investing
in revolutionary technologies to continuous
training, research and development - every
step is a calculated decision to increase the
patient’s chance of bringing home a bundle
of joy.
WHAT’S THE FUTURE PIPELINE?
With a rising wave of health tourism in
the country, Malaysia is proven to be an
ideal destination as the country has many
medical professionals that are infl uenced
and trained by the cream of the crop in their
respective medical fi eld. According to Dato
Dr Colin, Malaysia is already the ideal hub
for treatments as we not only boast excellent
healthcare services but also have positive traits
such as warm climate, low currency exchange
and good food. He continued to emphasise
that fertility centres in Malaysia is highly
sought after because centres like AFC uses
technologies that might not be available in
other countries.
“With the range and depth of IVF services
in the country, Malaysia is defi nitely capable
of becoming the optimum hub for IVF
treatments.”
