Johnson & Johnson introduces two new nature-inspired beauty contact lenses

JOHNSON & JOHNSON ( J & J ) has officially launched two new variants of their acclaimed ACUVUE ® DEFINE ® beauty contact lenses , Mystic Style and Timeless , in a launch event attended by strategic Eye Care Professionals ( ECPs ) partners .

The event emphasised the importance of safety , comfort , and innovative technology in the rapidly growing beauty contact lenses market .
Ajay Grover , Vision Care STAR Cluster General Manager , Johnson & Johnson , welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to the ECPs for their crucial role in the eye health industry .
“ I know you all have thriving , busy practices , and for you to devote your time for this ACUVUE ® DEFINE ® launch event means a lot to us ,” he said , highlighting the pivotal role ECPs play in ensuring the best fitting experience and wearer satisfaction .
Ajay underscored the significance of the beauty contact lenses category , especially its high demand in Asia .
“ Sixty per cent of the world ’ s beauty contact lenses are sold in Asia , reflecting the region ’ s central role in the market ,” he noted .
He also emphasised that 30 per cent of first-time contact lenses users in Asia start with beauty contact lenses , demonstrating their appeal .

The event also featured a detailed presentation by Annie Yam , Vision Care STAR Cluster Marketing Lead , Johnson & Johnson , introducing the Mystic Style and Timeless variants .

“ The design is inspired by nature , robust consumer feedback , and on-eye evaluations ,” said Yam .
She elaborated on the meticulous design process , which includes ideation , initial hand-drawn patterns to digitised drawing , prototyping and on-eye evaluation .
Yam highlighted the unique design philosophy of the new contact lenses , which blend naturally with each iris , creating a personalised look .
“ Each design of ACUVUE ® DEFINE ® beauty contact lenses is about blending the lenses with the natural colour of your iris , resulting in a personalised expression .”
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the ACUVUE ® DEFINE ® brand in Asia , Yam
emphasised the blend of art and science .
“ Our hand-drawn patterns and layered colours brighten up the eyes without masking natural beauty ,” Yam noted , underscoring the brand ’ s commitment to natural aesthetics and safety .

Safety and comfort were recurring themes throughout the event . Annie emphasised the Beauty Wrapped in Comfort™ ' technology which safely encloses pigments between two layers of lens material to prevent direct eye contact .
This , along with class-II UV protection and excellent breathability , sets ACUVUE ® DEFINE ® beauty-colored contact lenses apart from competitors . Meanwhile , Ajay highlighted the critical role of ECPs in promoting product quality and safety .
