WITH over 230 million Muslims, representing about 70 per cent of the country’ s productive population, Indonesia is ready to emerge as a key player in the global halal economy.

Recognising this potential, Dyandra Promosindo, with support from the Ministry of Industry and other stakeholders, is hosting Halal Indo 2025 on Sep 25-28, 2025, at Indonesia Convention Exhibition( ICE) BSD City in Tangerang.
Held under the theme“ From Lifestyle to Global Industry: Indonesia’ s Path to Becoming a Halal Hub,” the event is more than just a showcase of products. It is a platform for partnership, collaboration, and growth across multiple sectors of the halal industry, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, fashion, education, tourism, and Islamic finance.

Speaking at the Media and Influencer Gathering held ahead of the event, Kris Sasono Ngudi Wibowo, Head of the Halal Industry Centre at the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, emphasised the importance of reinforcing the halal ecosystem.
“ Indonesia must capitalise on the positive momentum of global economic growth and the halal industry to achieve its commitment of becoming a key player in the world market. The first step is to strengthen the ecosystem to ensure global competitiveness,” he said.

“ This year, our focus is on attracting more buyers so that industry players can benefit from commitment and transactions. The main objective of Halal Indo 2025 is to provide an overview to all stakeholders, industry players, the public, and international buyers that we are ready to face the challenges and opportunities for halal industry development,” Kris added.
COLLABORATIVE MOMENTUM
BIGGER, BOLDER
According to Ismi Puspita, Project Manager of Halal Indo 2025, this year’ s edition is expected to see substantial growth in both scale and scope. Spanning 3,886 square metres, the event will feature 387 booths and is expected to attract 13,000 local and international visitors. It also aims to secure US $ 380 million in transactions and business commitments.
“ We believe that to realise this vision, we cannot do it alone. Stakeholders are a driving force that makes us stronger, to elevate Indonesia’ s name in the global halal industry,” she explained.
The previous edition, Halal Indo 2024, recorded a commitment of US $ 376 million from four primary sectors: food and beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, textiles, and fashion.
It attracted over 12,000 visitors from Indonesia, Malaysia, Albania, and numerous other countries. This is an impressive benchmark that the 2025 event is determined to exceed.
EMPOWERING PROGRAMMES
Halal Indo 2025 is not just about business transactions. The event also features a wide range of programmes designed to strengthen capacity and connect stakeholders.
These include the Media and Influencer Gathering, Business Coaching Sessions, the Indonesia Halal Industry Expo( IHYA), Halal Connect Talk Shows, and Business Matching Sessions.
Each component is carefully curated to create a platform that facilitates collaboration among government bodies, industry players, media, communities, and the broader public.
“ Through various engaging programmes and strong collaborations, Halal Indo 2025 is expected to be a strategic platform for promoting Indonesia’ s leading halal products, enhancing international cooperation, and expanding export markets,” Ismi added.
FUTURE OUTLOOK
The momentum behind Halal Indo 2024 reflects Indonesia’ s commitment to not only being a consumer of halal products but also becoming a global exporter and leader in halal innovation.
As the halal economy continues to evolve, particularly with increasing demand across sectors such as education, tourism, and Islamic finance, Indonesia is well-positioned to lead the way.
“ We want to share this spirit and open up the widest possible space for collaboration,” Ismi concluded.
In a rapidly globalising market, Halal Indo 2025 is more than an event. It is a movement towards empowering halal excellence and establishing Indonesia as a force to be reckoned with in the Islamic economy.-
