Record-Breaking Malaysian Participation at COP28
MALAYSIA has made a historic mark at the UNF- CCC-COP28 in Dubai , registering over 600 delegates , the largest Malaysian delegation ever for the Conference of the Parties . This year ’ s delegation comprises stakeholders from various sectors , including key ministries , agencies , state governments , private sectors , financial institutions , NGOs , and academia , underscoring Malaysia ’ s commitment to global climate change action .
In a speech welcoming the delegates , Ministry of Natural Resources , Environment and Climate Change Secretary General Dr Ching Too Kim expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response and emphasized the importance of Malaysia ’ s contribution to global climate efforts .
“ This remarkable turnout underscores our commitment and efforts to contribute meaningfully to the global action on climate change ,” he said .
Highlighting the event ’ s significance , His Royal Highness Yang di-Pertuan Agong will attend the World Climate Action Summit and officially launch the Malaysia Pavilion at 3:45 PM tomorrow .
This prestigious event will also see YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad , Minister of Natural Resources , Environment and Climate Change ( NRECC ), delivering the national statement during the Resumed High-Level Segment . Trade will also be present at COP28 .
The Malaysian Pavilion promises to be a hub of activity throughout the conference , featuring over 60 distinguished speakers , 28 panel discussions , multiple bilateral meetings , and cultural performances .
Dr Ching acknowledged the vital role of sponsors , advisory and consultative panels , and speakers in showcasing Malaysia ’ s climate action story .

Delegates were encouraged to actively promote the pavilion and make the most of their time in Dubai by exploring other pavilions and side events .
Dr Ching expressed hope that COP28 would be a milestone in Malaysia ’ s ongoing journey toward enhanced climate action .
