‘myPharmAssist’ launch online
learning for pharmacists
THE launch of the ‘myPharmAssist’
programme in 2016 saw the Malaysian
Pharmaceutical Society (“MPS”) and
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare
Sdn Bhd (“GSK Consumer Healthcare”),
coming together in their shared efforts to
build healthy communities in Malaysia. In
progression of the programme, MPS led
the launch of the latest module on Pain
Management at Kuala Lumpur recently.
The module aims to further the
understanding of pharmacists on the
management of acute musculoskeletal
pain, headache and chronic joint pain.
The module marks the first of six modules
to be launched on the ‘myPharmAssist’
programme which is targeted to train and
empower 5,000 pharmacy practitioners
by 2023.
The subsequent modules will cover
topics such as cough, flu, oral and skin
health, allergy, nutrition and digestion
from the varying perspectives of the
pharmacy team – from minor ailments,
conditions and products to business fun-
damentals and understanding shopper
behaviour.
To support the implementation of the
new module, MPS, together with GSK
Consumer Healthcare, are conducting
a ‘myPharmAssist Train the Trainer’
workshop for up to 100 pharmacists.
In addition to on-ground training,
a dedicated portal has been designed
to ensure that pharmacists are readily
