Insurance firms collaboratively host parenting seminar
ALAYSIA’ S largest
M cancer celebratory and remembrance event is back on July 28 this year. Relay for Life, organised by the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, is a global event that unites communities to honour cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and to raise awareness as well as raise funds for patient support services, prevention and educational initiatives.
Each year, thousands of people, including cancer survivors take turns walking around a track to show their support for cancer patients and survivors. The event will be held at Dataran Petaling Jaya from 4pm to 12 midnight with exciting programmes such as games stall, zumbathon and sports challenges, performances by local artistes and survivors, and free health screenings.
Zurich Insurance and Takaful recently organised a parenting wellness seminar titled:“ Bridging that Generation Gap”. The seminar that was held in Penang, featured Malaysia’ s renowned Consultant Clinical Psychologist Paul Jambunathan.
Insightful facts and tips including understanding the true definition of generation gap and solutions to the problem were provided to the 80 participants on the day. All proceeds collected were given to the Trinity Community Centre, a children’ s home located in Selangor.
Kidney foundation launch cookbook

THE National Kidney Foundation( NKF) Malaysia recently launched its first Haemodialysis Cookbook in collaboration with Chef Abang Brian. The launch was in conjunction with the World Kidney Day( WKD) 2018.
NKF chairman Dato Dr Zaki Morad Mohd Zaher hopes that the cookbook would help kidney patients prepare home-cooked nutritional meals while taking care of their dietary needs.
Chef Abang Brian explained that the cookbook presents traditional recipes that have been modified into tasty and healthy variations that are perfect alternatives for Haemodialysis patients.
“ With this cookbook, we hope to convey the message that it is possible to prepare meals that meet their nutritional needs without sacrificing flavour,” he said.
