IIUM President Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain notes the book’ s value:“ al-Basirah explores critical dimensions of halalan toyyiban in a manner accessible to all levels of society, linking theory with practical application.”
“ This work reflects a commitment to expanding the frontiers of knowledge within the framework of epistemology tauhid, while sharing insights with society and industry alike,” added the IIUM Rector.
Essentially, the dual-language launch reflects Malaysia’ s intent to export halal knowledge the same way it exports halal products. Thereby, cementing its identity as both a knowledge hub through scholarship and a commercial leader through trade.
In his foreword, Malaysia ' s Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Malaysian Halal Industry Development Council( MPIH), Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, reaffirmed the nation’ s longstanding status as a global leader in the halal industry.
He described halal as more than just a driver of economic growth. It also serves as a form of halal diplomacy, linking trade, tourism, education, and community development.
The dual-language launch of al-Basirah also ties into MATRADE’ s mission to establish Malaysia as a global halal hub. The MATRADE CEO called the publication a strategic roadmap that helps industry players align ethical principles with commercial excellence.

The Bahasa Melayu and Japanese editions of al-Basirah mark an important milestone in sharing Malaysia’ s halal narrative. While new language editions may still be on the horizon, the publication has already opened doors to broader dialogue and collaboration.-
